Ready to do some "almost spring" cleaning and get rid of those paper piles once and for all? Here are a few scanning tips to help you get started--and to make it easier than ever to actually finish the job!
One Page at a Time
How do you organize your documents in efficient, secure ways so that you don't have to look at piles of paper but you still know where everything is? One page at a time, of course! By utilizing your scanner, you can quickly and easily turn all of your physical files into organized, easily searchable digital documents--and we have a few tips that will make that step easier, too. Let's get started!
Tip #1: The "three basket" rule
One great tip for chipping away at those paper piles is to grab three baskets. The first basket (or tote, or cardboard box) will be for anything that head for the trash can or recycling bin. The second basket will be for papers that need to be shredded--anything with personal or sensitive information--and the third will be for files that you want to scan.
Tip #2: Start small
When it comes to paper piles, you won't be able to handle everything all at once. Make smaller, reasonably sized piles out of larger piles, and then tackle one thing at a time. You'll be surprised how these little steps can make a big difference!
Tip #3: Set time limits
You don't want to start an hour-long project when you only have ten minutes! Remember to give yourself a time limit. For example, decide to work on scanning papers for only fifteen minutes at a time--that way you don't get overwhelmed or bite off more than you can chew.
